Bio
I am currently a formulation project leader (principal scientist) at Novartis technical research and development. I am an expert for formulation and process development of small molecule parenteral dosage form including complex extended release formulations (e.g., PLGA microparticles and microcrystal suspensions) from lab to industrial scale. I have successfully leaded several projects from preclinical stage to clinical trials. Before joining Novartis, I worked as PhD student in the department of pharmaceutics at Utrecht University, Utrecht, the Netherlands. During my study as PhD candidates, I developed several injectable extended release formulations based on polymeric particulate systems for local drug delivery applications. The results of my research work have been published in several high rank pharmaceutical journals. Prior to starting my PhD education, I worked as chief pharmacist in several public pharmacies in Iran where, I was responsible for preparation of magisterial topical preparations (e.g., ointments, creams and lotions) as well as giving drug information to patients.
