个人简介
PhD in Agriculture (Plant Pathology)
Observer, Researcher, Speaker, Writer, Photographer, Counsellor
Home town in Balochistan (Pakistan)
Briefly:
I opened my eyes in the little village of Usta Muhammad (Jaffarabad, Balochistan), which is known as the province's green belt due to its well-organized canal system. Growing up in a farming village where wheat and rice plantations were visible all year, I established a strong bond with plants, which led me to pursue agricultural education.
During my bachelor's degree (at Balochistan Agriculture College Baleli, Quetta), I had the opportunity to intern at the National Agriculture Research Center in Islamabad with a well-known scientist in the field of Plant Pathology. That was a big motivator for me to work hard to get a scholarship because of the exposure to well-equipped laboratories. Finally, I was awarded the indigenous scholarship Aghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan (MS leading to PhD) (Batch-I) funded by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and continued Master and Doctorate studies in the Department of Plant Pathology at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi.
Dr. Farah Naz, my mentor, is a kind and brilliant person who uses a scientific approach to dialogue and problem-solving. My PhD study focuses on the identification and characterization of fungal infections of apples in the Quetta district. During my doctoral studies, I was awarded an international grant from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan: International Research Support Initiative Program (IRSIP) and worked as a Visiting Scientist with Prof. Dr. Mark Lawrence Gleason in the Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
I've attended hundreds of lectures and webinars on topics ranging from plant sciences to climate change, food security, and alleviating hunger. I am really concerned about Pakistan's agricultural future, which is why I am involved in tree plantation awareness, equitable food distribution, reduced food waste, reduced usage of plastic items, and recycling of all available products.
My passion for nature led me to become an excellent photographer and explore the United States, Germany, and Turkey.
