My research interests focus on the fine-scale biochemical mechanisms that give rise to patterns in large-scale ecosystem processes. I am specifically interested by the role of microorganisms in biogeochemical cycles and how diversity alterations may modify ecosystem processes. My research intersects the fields of microbiology, community ecology, biogeochemistry and ecosystem functioning.
