Mariarosaria Falanga received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Salerno, Fisciano, Italy, in 1999 and 2003, respectively.
Since 2005, she has been a Faculty Member with the University of Salerno, where she is currently an Associate Professor of Physics of the Earth and of the Circumterrestrial Medium with the Department of Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics. Her current research interests include the development and application of IoT in geophysical environment, based on her expertise in volcano seismology and ground deformation. Moreover, her interests involve physical models for nonlinear systems and complex phenomena.
Dr. Falanga served as a Guest Editor for the Atmosphere MDPI, Special Issue Modeling Multiscale Dynamics by Statistical Mechanics in Heliophysics and Geophysics and as a Topic Editor for Advances in Geosciences Special Volume Understanding Volcanic Processes Through Geophysical and Volcanological Data Investigations: Some Case Studies From Italian Sites (EGU2019 GMPV5.11 session, COV10 S01.11 session)—Copernicus Publications. She has been a Convener of several international conferences of Geophysics and Physics and has served as a reviewer for many peer-reviewed scientific journals in geophysics and physics.
