个人简介
Dr Eva Sevigné-Itoiz is a Research Associate in the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London. Her research focuses on the environmental impacts of the circular bioeconomy by developing and performing environmental evaluations of biomass feedstocks and processes (e.g., life cycle analysis, water footprint assessments, land-use change impacts) as well as stakeholder engagement. She has worked on the COMETHA and the BIOSKOH projects which look at the construction and operation of an integrated industrial facility for the production of second-generation bioethanol and other co-products from lignocellulosic feedstock. Currently, she is working in the BESTER project that develops a set of scalable, robust, and highly productive manufacturing processes for butyl esters from sustainable resources for the bio-based commodity chemical market.
Dr. Sevigné-Itoiz is the chair of the Steering Committee of The Imperial College London Network of Excellence in Sustainability through Life Cycle Approaches that brings together and connects life cycle-related research and researchers across Imperial College London, as well as links to external life cycle practitioners, research groups, etc., to facilitate knowledge exchange, collaborations, and advancements in the development and application of life cycle approaches for sustainable development.
Dr Sevigné-Itoiz completed her PhD research at the University Autonomous of Barcelona (UAB) looking at the potential savings of resources and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of waste management in a global and circular economy. She participated in the development of a tool to calculate the impacts of municipal waste management (CO2ZW) and she developed a new model to include the international trade impacts on the GHG calculations of recycling. Her PhD was awarded with the "PhD Extraordinary award" of the University Autonomous of Barcelona.
After completing her PhD, Dr Sevigné-Itoiz worked at the Industrial Sustainability Department of the Catalan Research Centre (Eurecat). Her work focused on the sustainability evaluation of various European and Catalan projects in the frame of the bioeconomy and the circular economy. She joined Imperial College London in November 2015.
