Bio
E.A. Thoroh De Souza obtained in 1986 a BS in Physics from the University of São Paulo and a PhD in Physics from the University of Campinas in 1991.From 1992 to 1995, he was a visiting researcher at AT&T Bell Laboratories (Homdel, NJ) working in the department of advanced optoelectronic devices. Back in Brazil, he became an adjunct professor at the Physics Institute of the University of Brasília where he coordinated the graduate program of the Institute of Physics. He is currently a full professor at Mackenzie Presbyterian University and the founder of MackGraphe (Graphene and Nanomaterials Research Center). He is an advisor to CGIA (China Innovation Alliance of the Graphene Industry), member of the International Committee of FAPESP's Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers, member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Quanta-Lab (INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory and University of Minho), member of CPqD's Innovation Committee, member of the Photonic Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, member of Optical Society of America. His main interests are 2D materials, photonics and ultrafast sources for optical communications.
