个人简介
Ethan Swint (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Baylor University, Waco, TX, USA, in 2002, the M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas-Austin, Austin, TX, USA, in 2004, and the Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA, in 2012.
He has been involved in the design and implementation of motor drive systems in companies ranging from startup to blue-chip, prototype to high-volume production. Since his doctoral work on switched reluctance machines, his interests have been on the integrated design of motor drive components—machines, electronics, and controls. Previously, he worked on design and manufacturing of a high-efficiency linear machine with Mainspring Energy, Menlo Park, CA, USA, and led the third-generation motor designs from concept to production with Tesla, Inc., Austin, TX, USA, and fast-turn design-to-production of PM machines for a variety of applications with diameters ranging from 7–450 mm with Celera Motion, Bedford, MA, USA. He currently led the development of motor drive systems which improve power density, efficiency, durability, economics, and sustainability with Tau Motors, Inc., Redwood City, CA, USA.
