Bio
In 2001 she obtained the Wellcome Trust International Research Development Award. Prof Pinter’s research is focused on neuro-immuno-pharmacology and inflammation. Her main interests are the role of capsaicin-sensitive sensory nerves in the regulation of microcirculation and immuno-modulatory effects of neurogenic components. She has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and several book chapters providing key data to understand the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of somatostatin and its analogues, physiological and pathological functions of TRPV1 and TRPA1 receptors, as well as the mediator role of hydrogen sulfide in pain and inflammation.
