I am an evolutionary biologist, interested in the intersection between behaviour, ecology, evolution and population biology. My research is both empirical and theoretical, and I integrate different methods to study the dynamics of natural populations on both micro- and macroevolutionary time scales. I have a background in life-history evolution and I have subsequently complemented and expanded my field experimental research programme to also include population and quantitative genetics, genomics, phylogenetic comparative methods and theoretical modelling approaches. I am interested in the interplay between various evolutionary forces in natural populations and the intersection between ecology and genetics. I study frequency-dependent selection processes, natural and sexual selection in natural populations, the genomics and ecology of sexual antagonism, the evolution of signalling traits (particularly colour), thermal adaptations and phenotypic plasticity. I do also contribute to, and publish on topics related to general evolutionary theory, the history of evolutionary biology and how evolutionary biology could help us to understand applied problems, such as in conservation or anthroprogenically driven evolution.
