Bio
From 1995, he has investigated robotic perception, based on machine vision and 3D laser scanning systems. Since 2007, Erich Rome is pursuing several R&D topics, including modelling, simulation and analysis for critical infrastructure protection and multi-sensory systems for surveillance and security. He published numerous peer-reviewed publications, edited several books and is a member of the steering committee of the workshop series CRITIS. So far, he coordinated four EU research projects, the Network of Excellence CIPRNet being the latest one. He is currently working in the EU H2020 projects RESIN and ENTRAP. These projects investigate critical infrastructure protection and resilience, risk analysis of consequences of climate change, and other security areas.
