Bio
Eric Ferguson currently serves as the Mission Planning, Sequencing, and Analysis Element Manager for NASA's Advanced Multi-Mission Operations System (AMMOS) program. Most recently, Eric worked as the technical group supervisor for the Planning and Execution System Engineering group and Mission Planner for the Europa Clipper Project. He currently holds a Master's Degree in Astronautics from the University of Southern California and bachelor's degrees in both Music Education and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas. Previously, Eric was one of the operators of the Mars rover Opportunity, where he assisted the rover in becoming the first robot to drive a marathon on another planet. Occasionally, he also contributes to an interactive 3D graphics program called Cosmographia used by engineers and scientists to visualize spacecraft and instrument observations within our solar system. Eric began his career at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston where he wrote software for a new and improved simulator for astronauts traveling to the International Space Station. Before arriving at JPL, he also developed distributed flight software to maneuver and control a formation of satellites for DARPA's F6 program.
