Bio
Dr. Alhseinat completed his PhD from the University of Edinburgh (ranked 17th in the world by the 2013 QS rankings). Since 2009, Dr. Alhseinat is actively involved in oil and gas produced water treatment. He published a number of articles from his research in scientific journals in the field of membrane science and desalination and has presented his work in various international conferences. One of his ambitions is understanding membrane fouling for complex feed scenarios and developing reliable prediction methods.
Dr. Alhseinat is currently working in Khalifa University as Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering. Prior to join Khalifa University, Dr. Alhseinat worked in the Petroleum Institute, ADNOC as Research and Teaching Associate. He was heavily involved in research activity, writing and preparing scientific proposals and presentations, and publishing scientific articles.
His research activity addresses the foaming problem in natural gas sweetening units, thermodynamic of acid gas solubility in amine solution and the characterization of the thermophysical properties of solvents. The research experience (experimental and modelling) that he has gained in his previous work can be directed not only for natural gas sweetening but also for other research areas i.e. Foam EoR, smart flooding, bitumen recovery, surface science and carbon dioxide capture. Dr. Alhseinat is currently active in developing a new technologies for removing dissolved species from liquid solvents.
