Bio
Born in Zimbabwe in July 1983 and relocated to South Africa in March 2004 to do her first degree. She later on joined the University of Fort as a lecturer in 2009 and have held several leadership position in the department from 2013 to February 2021. In 2019 during her tenure as the HOD she also acted as the deputy dean in the Faculty of Management of Commerce were she was responsible in the faculty teaching and learning and community engagement portfolio. Upon graduating her PhD in 2018 she was promoted to senior lecturer in business management the position she is currently occupying. From February 2021 until present she the Acting Deputy Dean teaching and learning and community engagement. Outside the classroom and office she has been involved in community engagement project nationally through Enactus South Africa where she has received several accolades including the Faculty Advisor of the year an award the VC award in Community Engagement in honour of her contribution she is making in the scholarship of Community Engagement. In 2019 she was selected as a fellow in the first Cohort of the Future Professor Programme a Department of Higher Education initiative which provides mentorship and support to the future professorial. In May 2020 the UFH Management Executive also appointed her as the Chairperson of the GBV Task team. She has been recently elected as the deputy Chair of the university of Fort Hare Institutional forum. Dr Rungani’s research area span across some interrelated sub-areas of small business and entrepreneurship management with a special focus on financial and non-financial support. She believes that education is not a one-size-fits-all discipline, and it is essential that our approach be tailored to the specific learning needs of each individual.
