Bio
Zeljko V. Despotovic was born in Prijepolje, Serbia. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in School of Electrical Engineering (Department of Power Converters and Drives), from the University of Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, 1990, 2003 and 2007, respectively. He has been with the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics, Mihajlo Pupin Institute, Belgrade, since 1990. His research interests include the fields of power electronics, mechatronics, control of power converters and their applications in renewable energy sources (photovoltaic, wind and small hydro power plants), electrostatic precipitator (ESP) control, vibration control and control of vibratory conveying systems in processing industries. Beginning from the 2005 he became the member of the IEEE association and IEEE societies: Industrial Electronics, Industry Applications and Power Electronics. He is an expert reviewer in the prestigious journal IEEE Transaction on Industrial Electronics. At Mihajlo Pupin Institute, he is currently in positions senior scientific associate and senior R&D engineer of power electronics and power converter systems. He has a Graduate Engineer's Licenses (Serbian Chamber of Engineers): Responsible Designer of Electrical Drive Control - automatic, measuring and regulation and Responsible Designer of Low and Medium Voltage Power System. He is professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Applied Studies (Study program: New Energy Technologies)-Belgrade, Serbia, since February 2010. He is the associate research professor on PhD academic studies at School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade , Chair of Power Converters and Drives (teaching on the courses: Power Converters, Control of Power Converters), since March 2015. The title of full research professor has acquireed since from June 2019 (by the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade and on the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development). He became the member of Professional Board (Field of Science and Mathematics) of University of Belgrade on Decembre 2019. He became the President of the Scientific Council of the Mihajlo Pupin Institute on 5. March 2020.
