个人简介
Elizabeth J. Dogherty completed a PhD in Nursing from Queen’s University under the supervision of Drs. Margaret B. Harrison and Ian D. Graham. Her clinical background is in the area of medical-surgical nursing, particularly general medicine and orthopedics. Her PhD thesis focused on facilitation as a knowledge translation (KT) strategy to enhance research use in nursing. She worked with various groups in cancer care as part of a Pan-Canadian initiative supporting KT for improved care through guideline use and studied how facilitation is being utilized to assist groups in cancer care to adapt and implement existing guidelines into local settings. Her postdoctoral research will investigate the prevention and management of depression in residents in long-term care and specifically aims to (1) revalidate the depression rating scale (DRS) scale using the Minimum Data Set-Resident Assessment Instrument (MDS-RAI) 2.0 data, and (2) develop and complete a feasibility assessment of a facilitation intervention to address depression that will target unregulated care aides in residential long-term care. Her hobbies include cooking, running, reading and travelling.
