Bio
Elizabeth M. Duncan, Ph.D., is a biologist interested in identifying mechanisms that regulate genome accessibility and transcription during tissue regeneration and other dynamic cellular transitions. She received a B.A. with Honors in English Literature from Dartmouth College in 2000 and a Ph.D. in Chromatin Biology (with mentor C. David Allis) from The Rockefeller University in 2009. From 2000-2003, she was a research technician in the laboratory of Jan Breslow, MD where she worked with Ephraim Sehayek, MD to identify genes that affect the absorption of dietary cholesterol. Elizabeth was a Damon Runyon Postdoctoral Fellow from 2010-2013 while in the laboratory of mentor Alejandro Sánchez Alvarado, Ph.D. (University of Utah, Stowers Institute for Medical Research). She has been an assistant professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Kentucky since 2018.
