个人简介
Dr. Elahe Mahdavian is a professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Biological Sciences at LSUS. She received her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in 1998. She is a dedicated teacher and researcher with multidisciplinary expertise in organic synthesis, biochemistry, cancer biology, and computational biology. As a cancer scientist, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to student mentorship as well as building an extensive network of multi-institutional research collaborations. Dr. Mahdavian's research has centered on drug discovery in the field of cancer therapeutics. Specifically, she has studied Fusarochromanone, a remarkable anti -cancer agent with a novel mode of action. She has demonstrated that this molecule has significant potential both as a research tool and as a clinical cancer agent. Since working at LSUS in 2003, she has secured over $2 million in research funding, published 16 peer-reviewed research articles, and successfully supervised the research of 100 graduate, undergraduate, and high school students. Her students have received over 30 awards at local, national, and international conference competitions.
