Bio
Dr. Eijiro Miyako received PhD in Chemical Systems and Engineering in 2006 from Kyushu University (Japan). During his PhD thesis, he worked as a research fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science for a year. He then moved to National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) (Japan) to start his works as an independent researcher. He also worked as a visiting scientist at Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) (France) from 2012 to 2013 and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) from 2017 to 2018. He is currently an associate professor in Graduate School of Advanced Science and Technology, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) (Japan). He also served as the Research Director in Research Center for Exponential-Biomedical Engineering (Research Core), JAIST (Japan). His research interests are in the area of Bioengineering, Materials Chemistry, Nanotechnology, and Nanomedicine. In particular, using physicochemical properties of materials, he has developed a variety of biotechnological and biomedical toolboxes. Those investigations are published in research journals such as Nature Commun., PNAS, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. and Adv. Mater etc. In addition, those papers are highlighted in informational media including Nature, Science, American Chemical Society, CNN, Times, Bloomberg, and so on. He has also got research prizes and awards such as PCCP Prize in Royal Society of Chemistry and Research Encouragement Award in The Fullerenes, Nanotubes and Graphene Research Society.
