Bio
I have been based in the Chinese University of Hong Kong within the group of Prof. MacPherson for the past six years. I first moved to Hong Kong in late May 2010, shortly after completing my PhD studies at Cambridge University under the supervision of Prof. Lynn F. Gladden, FRS.
Applications of terahertz radiation
My thesis topic was "Applications of terahertz radiation" and this has continued to be the main focus of my research. My current research interests include terahertz spectroscopy of biological and chemical systems, materials characterisation by modelling terahertz dielectric response, probing kinetics of reactions with terahertz radiation, and hardware and software development of terahertz instruments. I want to understand the relationship between the terahertz interaction and the fundamental electronic processes at play.
As a Research Assistant Professor within the Electronic Engineering Department, I also have a teaching role to play, as one of the course instructors for the ENGG1310: Electromagnetics, Optics and Modern Physics foundation course.
