Bio
Eduardo Alves de Almeida is a Professor from the Department of Natural Sciences of the Regional University of Blumenau, Brazil. He was also assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences of the São Paulo State University, Brazil, from 2006 to 2016. He has PhD on Biochemistry. His main researches involves studies about the effectts of environmental contaminants on aquatic organisms, such as mussels, crabs, tadpoles, turtles and fish. Among the effects studied on these organisms are biotransformation enzymes, oxidative stress markers, metallothioneins, genotoxicity markers, etc. Prof. Eduardo A. Almeida have more than 50 peer revised published papers, several book chapters and recently edited a book entlited "Pollution and Fish Health in Tropical Ecosystems".
