个人简介
I am a Profesor ayudante doctor in Mechanical and Manufacturing Technology at the Department of Engineering and Applied Techniques, University Defense Center (San Javier Air Base, Spain).
In 2011, I took the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (with honours) at the University of Salento, Italy. My scientific career started during the master’s thesis. It was developed in collaboration with the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics (VKI) , Bruxelles, Belgium. After graduation, I performed a 4-month post-graduate training position at VKI.
In 2012, I took the Post-Graduate Research Master of Fluid Dynamics (with honours) at the VKI.
Shortly after, my research career continued at the University of Salento where, in 2015, I gained a Ph.D. (grade excellent) in Energy Systems and Environment. The thesis work regarded the experimental and numerical characterization of dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuators for separation and bypass transition control. The work was developed in collaboration with the National Research Council-Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems (CNR-IMM) of Lecce. During the Ph.D., I also performed a research stage at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS), leading to participation at two conferences and establishing the basis of a continued collaboration between University of Salento, CNR-IMM and UTIAS.
After the Ph.D., I won a Contract of Research Collaboration at the University Aldo Moro of Bari. The work was in collaboration with the University of Salento and the CNR-NANOTEC, which led to a continued collaboration among the partners.
Afterwards, I was hired by the University of Salento, first as temporary researcher, and after as a full-time junior researcher in the field of “Fluid Machinery and Systems for Energy and Environment”.
From 2016 to 2019 I was appointed as a Team Member of the “NATO STO Science and Technology Organization Technical Team: AVT-254”.
From 2017 to 2020 I was member of the "Associazione Italiana delle Macchine a Fluido e dei Sistemi per l’Energia e l’Ambiente (AIMSEA)".
In 2018, I was scientific director of a project in collaboration with the Loughborough University, I was speaker in a seminar held at the Wolfson School of Mechanical Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering (Loughborough University) entitled “Interactions between DBD plasma actuators and liquid sprays” and I was a visiting scientist at the Institute of Aerospace Thermodynamics (ITLR), University of Stuttgart.
In 2019 and 2020, I participated in a H2020 project and in the research activities of various national projects at the Department of Engineering for Innovation, University of Salento.
My main research topic regards the numerical and experimental study of new technologies for flow control, along with the development of detailed and accurate post-processing methods.
During the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as during my Ph.D., I was trained in several prestigious research centres for thermo-fluid dynamics, participating also in the activities held on them. Additionally, I still keep active collaborations with different scientific institutions.
Moreover, during my scientific career, I worked on both experimental and numerical investigations and I have therefore gained significant experience in designing and building experimental facilities, with the corresponding acquisition systems.
