Personal Statement:
I am a theoretical condensed matter physicist interested in optical and transport phenomena of low dimensional and quantum materials. I perform calculations that capture interactions of electrons, phonons, and photons in materials using analytically tractable to realistic Hamiltonians. I work closely with experimentalists in Raman, ultrafast, and photoemission spectroscopies. Recently, quantum materials (QMs) such as topological insulators, topological (Dirac and Weyl) semimetals, and two-dimensional heterostructures provide vast tunabilities on band modification, new emerging degrees of freedoms (charge, spin, valley, and chirality), and strength of interactions. I will exploit those marvelous properties of QMs to design new dynamical phenomena in solids for the advancement of technology.
Personal details:
I obtained M.Sc. and Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics from Tohoku University, Japan, respectively in 2013 and 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Riichiro Saito. My M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses discussed the electron-electron interactions, phonon renormalization (Kohn anomaly effects), and quantum interference effects in graphene and carbon nanotubes probed by Raman scattering and controlled by the gate voltage. Apart from main research topics, I collaborated with students and staff in the group and supervised internship students about optical spectroscopies and thermoelectrics. My graduate courses were supported by Japanese government scholarships. I spent a brief Postdoc fellowship in the same group up to the end of 2016.
From January 2017, I became a Postdoc at the Institute of High-Performance Computing, Singapore, where I spent 1.5 years working with Dr. Justin Song on optoelectronics of quantum materials.
In 2018, I became a researcher at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, where I started the computational condensed matter physics group alone. The group is currently expanding with six researchers. In 2019, I got four research grants to visit Prof. A. Grüneis (Cologne U., Germany) and Prof. T. Seetawan (Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat U., Thailand) and to build computational infrastructures. I supervised more than 10 bachelor and master students for final projects and internships. Some of them published papers and won scholarships for graduate courses.
Presently, I am on secondment in Prof. Thomas Schmidt's group (UL) as a Postdoc since January 2020.
