Bio
His main area of interest and expertise is Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry and in particular air quality, physical, optical and chemical properties of aerosols via in-situ and remote sensing measurements, investigation of the role of aerosols on climate, health and ecosystems, climate change and relevant synergistic implications. He is leading the Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry Group of IERSD and he is Head and Quality Assurance Manager of the Laboratory of Atmospheric Chemistry. He is the Director of the Greek GEO Office, represents Greece in the relevant international bodies (i.e. GEO Programme Board/UN, EuroGEOSS Coordination Group/EC), and he is Member of the Board of the Hellenic Quality Assurance & Accreditation Agency (HQA). He is also member of the Steering Committee of the Navarino Environmental Observatory (Messenia, Greece) and Co-Editor in Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics journal (IF:5.5) , EGU/Copernicus. He is coordinating the H2020 project SMURBS/ERA-PLANET (9.15 mE) on the topic of "smart cities and resilient societies".
