个人简介
Dr. Amos Chege Kirongo, PhD is the Coordinator Innovation and Entrepreneurship where he oversees the University Innovation Ecosystem in the Directorate of Research Innovation Commercialization and Extension at The Meru University of Science and Technology, Kenya. He has 12-year experience in research and teaching in the areas of Cloud Computing, Data Communications and Networks, Database, Programming, Software Engineering, Research Methods, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He has researched extensively with interests in the areas of E-Learning, Open Government Data, Green Computing, Assistive Technologies, Agriculture Technologies, Financial Technologies, Software Engineering, Networking, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Responsible Computer Science, Circular Economy, Climate Change and Rural Development, for narrowing the digital divide. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, the University Relations Lead IEEE YP Region 8. He has mentored Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Faculty members in research, technology and innovation, coordinated innovations and entrepreneurship programs for the last 5 years in diverse sectors including areas of Financial Technologies.
Dr. Chege in collaboration with other faculty and industry partners created the Inaugural Meru University of Science and Technology International Conference, Innovation Week, Equity Hackathon and the IASP Africa Division Conference, mobilizing local and international academia, industry and government partners in the identification, nurturing and globalization of local innovations through research output and publication for adoption in the local and global market. Dr. Chege has participated as judge during the Konza - Israel Innovation Challenge among other Innovations, Hackathons and Startup Competitions. Dr. Chege is passionate about Mentorship and Coaching of Young Innovators to attain their dreams for Startups and create technologies and innovations that simplify life for inclusivity and value addition. He has carried out mentorship in innovations and consultancy through innovation, hackathon and Conference activities with private and government institutions including Equity Bank and Konza Technopolis. Dr. Chege has attracted Grants from Austrian Partnership Program in Higher Education & Research for Development (APPEAR), National Research Fund (NRF) and Kenya Education Network (KENET) and published in the areas of Assistive Technologies, Neural Networks, Image Processing, Networking, and a Book Chapter entitled ERP User Perceptions and Service Delivery Challenges.
