Upon completion of his Ph.D. thesis ‘Phosphoramidites in synthetic bioorganic chemistry’ he remained in the BIOSYN group working on a wide range of research topics for the most part involving synthesis of modified biopolymers. Over the years of continuous synthetic activities he also managed to contribute to the fields of natural product synthesis, fluorous chemistry and protein synthesis.
