My current research focuses on understanding the mechanism by which methanogens respond to oxidative and thermodynamic stress conditions. To address my research objectives, I am working on functional characterization of ferredoxin disulfide reductases, flavodoxin, and investigating the Fe(III)- dependent metabolic pathway in methanogen for which I utilize different tools from the area of biochemistry, microbiology, crystallography, bioinorganic chemistry, and various spectroscopic techniques.
