Bio
Dinh Ho Tong Minh was born in Pleiku, Vietnam. He received the Ph.D.
degree in telecommunications from Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy, in February 2013. His Ph.D. thesis was dedicated
to fully support the tomographic phase of the Seventh Earth Explorer Core Mission BIOMASS. The mission, which was
selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) in May 2013 for a launch in 2020, aims at measuring the global forest
biomass and height to better understand the terrestrial carbon cycle.
From 2006 to 2009, he was a Lecturer in remote sensing with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh,
Vietnam. Since February 2013, he has been working as a Researcher with the Centre d'Etudes Spatiales de la
Biosphère (CESBIO), Toulouse, France. He has been actively working on two studies, i.e., TropiSAR and TropiScat,
funded by the ESA. He is the inventor of a new radar tomographic technology to measure the dense tropical forest biomass
from space. He is currently involved as a Key Scientist for the tomographic performance of P-band BIOMASS and L-band
SAtélite Argentino de Observación COn Microondas Companion Satellite (SAOCOM-CS) missions. His current
research interests include synthetic aperture radar (SAR) signal processing and estimation techniques for the joint
exploitation of multiple SAR images including permanent scatterer interferometric SAR, polarimetric SAR tomography, and
ground-based radar tomography.
