My keen interest is in undertaking inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research to understand different dimensions of water scarcity, and explore options for water management, food security and sustainable agriculture. My key areas of interest are: groundwater management, integrated water management in river basins; agricultural water management, especially water productivity improvements in agriculture; virtual water trade; methodological aspects of assessment of water scarcity and food insecurity; water-energy-food security nexus; integrated urban water management; climate resilience of water supply systems; and climate variability and its implications for water management.
