Early Stage Researcher in Break Biofilms Project “ADVANCED ANALYTICAL PLATFORMS FOR STUDYING THE MOLECULAR PROPERTIES OF BIOFILMS”. Development of advanced mid-infrared spectroscopic techniques for studying biofilm formation with improved spectroscopic sensitivity based in combination with orthogonal sensing concepts such as AFM, luminescence, and electrochemical analysis techniques is the target of the project for early adhesion of biofilm detection and simultaneous determination of parameters relevant for biofilms. Next to investigating biofilm formation, antimicrobial films and their release characteristics during adhesion/development will be studied by modification of IR-ATR waveguides with antimicrobial films. Sophisticated multivariate data evaluation strategies and data classification algorithms enable advancing data mining based on multi-parametric data sets. Familiar with polymers, polysaccharides and hydrocolloids chemistry, through hands-on experiences gained on various techniques like Size Exclusion Chromatography, known as a kind of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), asymmetric flow Field-Flow (AF4)as separation technique, zeta potential, and diffusive mobility in the heterogeneous environment; solid surface/interface analysis with respect to contact angle; viscosity & rheology of (semi) dense systems, in particular with respect to dynamic/kinematic viscosity and viscoelasticity upon oscillating stress. S. Quality Control Chemist with experience on flour treatment agents (food additives) added to flour to improve baking functionality. Additives such as enzymes: hemicellulose, ribose, lipase, glucose oxidase, etc; are defined in the acceptable level of additives based on their structure, interaction with food, and biological processes. Work experience in the management and implementation of the entire quality control process in the food industry laboratory.
