He has authored or coauthored 52 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to more than 125 conferences. During his time at the University of Barcelona, he has supervised 5 Ph.D. students and 28 Master's and Graduate projects. He has participated in eight European projects and 18 national projects. He has been the coordinator of three national projects involving the development of new technologies for future colliders in particle physics, during which he developed the origin of the SPAD technology used in this paper. He has carried out technology transfer activities, participating in 10 R&D contracts. Three of these contracts targeted the use of SPAD technology in the biomedical field. He has coauthored 4 patents. Since 2013, he has also worked with endoASIC Technologies, a spin-off company of the University of Barcelona dedicated to the development of capsule endoscopy technology and molecular in vitro and in vivo diagnostics that he cofounded
