For last many years, I am increasingly drawn to “Global Surgery” and am trying to contribute to finding low-cost surgical solutions to achieve health equity for underserved populations. I am committed to lifelong activism and campaigning for ‘appropriate technology for health-care in developing world’ which is need based for local population, available at grass root levels, affordable, cost-effective, provides value-for-money, easy to maintain, sensitive to cultural-social-religious difference in society, understood by locals and involves locals in its co-creation. I consider myself truly blessed to be able to ‘make a difference’ by working in resource-poor setting for last three and half decades. It has been a privilege to have been a life-long worshiper of Saraswati (Goddess of Knowledge) and do God’s work, even though I don’t wear a Priest’s collar.
