Dennis L Fowler

Dennis L. Fowler received the M.D. degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, in 1973. He is currently the Gerald and Janet Carrus Professor of Clinical Surgery and the Director of the Simulation Center, Columbia University Medical Center, and New York Presbyterian Hospital/CU. He is also the Director of the Reemtsma Center for Innovation and Outcomes Research, Department of Surgery, Columbia University. He has recently completed a term on the GI Advisory Council of the American Board of Surgery. As a clinical surgeon, his research is focused on minimally invasive surgery and surgical education and on outcomes research, technology development, and the use of simulation for training and assessment in healthcare. Dr. Fowler is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
