个人简介
Dennis Keiser, Ph.D., is a metallurgical engineer in the Fuel Performance and Design Department at Idaho National Laboratory. Currently, he helps lead the Reduced Enrichment for Research and Test Reactors (RERTR) program to develop low-enriched uranium fuels for application in research and test reactors that currently use high-enriched uranium. His work involves irradiated fuel characterization, studying diffusion behavior in a variety of systems, managing a work package responsible for fuel characterization, out-of-pile testing and analysis, and interacting with domestic and international partners. He also manages university projects and conducts additional research for the ATR National Scientific User Facility (NSUF) project that irradiation tests different fuel materials.
Mr. Keiser earned his Ph.D. in materials engineering from Purdue University and B.S. and M.S. degrees in metallurgical engineering from the University of Idaho. He has more than 20 years of experience in performing nuclear materials research. His areas of expertise include nuclear fuel development and characterization, nuclear waste processing and characterization, corrosion of materials used in nuclear systems, interdiffusion phenomena in nuclear materials systems, and general materials characterization and mechanical property testing. He is a member of the American Nuclear Society and The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society and has served as past chairman of the TMS nuclear materials committee. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoors activities, including camping, hunting, fishing and four-wheeling.
