Bio
In 2013, María del Pilar Chantada-Vázquez obtained a Graduate in Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela and it is in this same university where she completed a Master's Degree in Advanced Chemistry Ed. 2 and doctoral studies in the Doctoral Program in Science and chemical technology. Since 2012, he has been part of the Trace, Spectroscopy and Speciation Elemences Group (GETEE) of the Department of Analytical Chemistry Nutrition and Bromatology of the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela, where he begins working on his Work End of Career and continuing his experience with the Final Project of the Master in Advanced Chemistry, both in the field of Forensic Toxicology. His work has also been centralized in the synthesis of nanoparticles for application in toxicological samples (urine, blood and serum). In this group he has specialized in separation by liquid chromatography, and detection by mass spectrometry technique by using equipment such as ICP-MS or ICP-OES.
In 2015, his doctoral studies began in this same research group in the field of trace element analysis, metal speciation and metalomics with the title `` Development of Metalomic and Proteomic Strategies for the Early Detection of Alzheimer's ''. During this time he has also worked in the Proteomics Service of the Health Research Foundation of Santiago de Compostela (FIDIS), where he has not only done work related to his doctoral thesis, but has also met and collaborated in the routine of a Proteomics service receiving and treating user samples. During this stage he has completed several courses related to the field of proteomics, thus expanding his training and proteomic knowledge. Among all of them, in 2016 he took the course `` Translational Proteomics '' organized by the Ramón Domínguez Foundation and held in the laboratories of the proteomics platform, with a duration of 25 hours. In 2017, he also participates in the `` VII Quantitative Proteomics Course '' course organized by the National Biotechnology Center in collaboration with ProteoRed - Carlos III Proteomic Network Platform with a duration of 36 hours. And finally, in the year 2018, after the acquisition of the SCIEX 6600 Triple TOF TM Equipment for the service, it receives the training corresponding to the operation and work with this equipment, training lasting 25 hours.
During the years 2018 and 2019, he works in the Proteomics Nano Laboratory of the Research Unit of the Lucus Augusti University Hospital (HULA) as part of the Translational Oncology Research Group (GIOT-HULA) where he participates as a member in the laboratory. His work focuses on the reception and organization of breast cancer samples, and the pre-treatment of these for the identification by Mass Spectrometry. He has also been part of this group expanding his work to pretreatment of bladder cancer samples.
At the same time, in September 2019, he has carried out the defense of the work corresponding to his doctoral thesis, obtaining the Official Doctoral Degree in Chemistry, with the mention ´´cum laude´´.
Since January 2021, P. Chantada-Vázquez is a Sara Borrell reseacher ISCIII at Hospital Universitario Lucus Augusti (HULA) from Lugo.
