Bio
I have the expertise and interdisciplinary research skills to perform the proposed research. The core interest of my research has been the use of functional genomics tools to characterize the functional role of tick antioxidant machinery in hematophagy and vector competence. To dissect the mechanism of tick hematophagy and vector competence, we are using different approaches including RNA interference, microbiome, microRNA etc. As part of my work in this field, I have published several manuscripts in this field and I am highly qualified to carry out the proposed research. I am well versed in bench as well as computational work including RNA interference, pathogen/endosymbiont quantification, oxidative stress estimation, multiplexing of several DNA libraries for 16S rRNA sequencing, microbiome transplantation, QIIME2 analysis, microRNA analysis, and Shotgun metagenomic sequencing analysis.
