个人简介
Debra Wawro (S'97–M'05) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1997 and 1999, respectively. She is currently working towards the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington.
From 2000 to 2002, she was a Manager and R&D Staff Scientist at Marconi Networks, developing low-cost optical components for fiber-to-the-home telecom applications. From 2002 to 2004, she was an Instructor and Research Scientist at the Department of Otolaryngology, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, working on photonic applications in medicine. From 2004 to 2006, she was a Senior Manager and Staff Scientist with Tellabs, leading the Component Technology Group, as well as the design of optical devices for telecommunication applications. Currently, she is a founder and CEO of Resonant Sensors Incorporated, Arlington, TX, a newly formed optical sensors company operating in the Arlington Technology Incubator at the University of Texas at Arlington. She has two issued and three pending patents related to guided-mode resonance sensors and other optical components for telecom. She is author of an invited book chapter “Optical Waveguide-Mode Resonant Biosensors,” in Optical Imaging, Photonics, Sensors, and Systems for Homeland Security (B. Javidi, Ed., New York: Springer-Verlag, 2006). She is author and coauthor of three journal papers and six conference papers.
Ms. Wawro is a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE).
