Bio
David Muchlinski is an assistant professor of international affairs in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech. David's research agenda is centered around the determinants of human pro-sociality, or why humans decide to behave cooperatively or violently with one another. His current research examines the correlates of extreme forms of political violence including genocide and other mass atrocities. Using the tools of computational social science, including machine learning and natural language processing, David's research uses social media to develop measures of political violence, and to develop early warning systems that can warn policy makers when such events are likely to occur.
