Career Trajectory
Bio
David Mothersill graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2014 with a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience. Following this, he began a Research Fellowship examining social cognition in schizophrenia, based in Trinity College Dublin and National University of Ireland Galway. David started a Lectureship in NUI Galway in July 2016, where he helped develop and ran the MSc in Clinical Neuroscience. Following a Lectureship in Research Methods in Dublin Business School, David took up a Lectureship in Psychology in National College of Ireland. David's research uses functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and neuropsychological testing to better understand deficits in social cognition in groups such as schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder. A better understanding of these difficulties will help inform the development of novel treatments aimed at improving social cognitive function in the future.
