In 2019, Daniela received a research fellowship to work at Neuroendocrinology and Aging Group (N&A), Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC), University of Coimbra, in a funded project under Cláudia Cavadas supervision (N&A group leader). In this project, Daniela was responsible for establishing new techniques to evaluate rodents food behavior and appetite regulators. In the same research group, in 2022, DGC won a research grant for the project entitled HealthyAging2020. In this project, she analyzed the impact of neuroendocrine modulations on cellular processes related to ageing and metabolic dysfunction: senescence, inflammation, metabolism, and circadian rhythm. Daniela G. Costa's current research interests focus on metabolism and aging, investigating metabolic alteration by diet and aging, circadian dysfunction, and alteration in neurogenesis and cellular senescence. DGC is first author of a review article in Nutrition Reviews (IF=7.110) and co-author of a manuscript (under review). Also, DGC is author of 6 oral communication, 2 of them presented in a meeting of high scientific relevance - Portuguese Pharmacological Society; 1 poster presentation at an international conference (EFFOST, 2020), and was selected to make an oral presentation at the Summer School organized by European Commission, which resulted in the publication of the abstract; 4 poster presentations and she was involved in the laboratory supervision of two students (1 MSc and 1 high school student).
