Daniel P. Engelhart was born in Aberdeen, SD, USA, in 1978. He received the B.A. degree from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD, USA, the M.S. degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, CA, USA, and the Ph.D. degree from the Fritz Haber Institute (Max Planck Society), Berlin, Germany, and Göttingen University, Göttingen, Germany. In 2014, he was studying the interaction of solar radiation with spacecraft materials on behalf of the Air Force Research Laboratory, Space Vehicles Directorate, Albuquerque, NM, USA, under the National Research Council (NRC) Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program. In 2016, he joined Assurance Technology Corporation, Carlisle, MA, USA, to work on the investigation of the effects of space-simulated radiation on various spacecraft-relevant materials at the Spacecraft Charging and Calibration Laboratory, Air Force Research Laboratory, Albuquerque. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with The University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. He is also a Physical Chemist.
