Bio
Dr.Puleston's past work has elucidated how immune memory is formed and howpoor long-lasting immunity in older individuals can be overcome by targetingcellular metabolism. His recent studies revealed how certain metabolicmodalities are pivotal for the ability of T cells and macrophages todifferentiate into distinct functional subsets - a key feature of immune cellsfacilitating their capacity to respond flexibly to numerous environmentalthreats. The Puleston Lab seeks to understand how metabolic factors shapeimmune cell function in healthy tissues and disease. Major research themescenter around metabolic factors in tumor microenvironments includingmetabolic control of immune cell differentiation and acquisition of tissue-specific identities.
