I am a Junior Group Leader at the National Center for Cancer Immune Therapy (CCIT-DK) at Herlev Hospital. My research group (currently comprised of 2 postdocs, 3 PhD students, and 2 Master’s student) focuses on improving the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy by targeting the tumor microenvironment.
Additionally, I am the head of the mouse facility at Herlev Hospital, which has 2 animal technicians employed.
Before joining the CCIT, I held a permanent position as a Staff Scientist at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA.

In my research group we use innovative approaches to examine the tumor microenvironment and its influence on cancer immunotherapy. Through a balanced combination of basic and translational research, we aim to identify strategies for improving the efficacy of Cancer Immunotherapy.

As a group leader I strive to generate a dynamic, open-minded, and inspiring work environment, which will foster high-impact scientific discoveries and also educate the scientists of the future.
