Bio
My research is focused on how our decisions are influenced by our history of prior choices and experiences. I use a variety of neuroimaging techniques, such as electroencephalography (EEG), in combination with computational modelling and machine learning approaches, to investigate how our decisions are formed in the brain.
I am also interested in how our prior knowledge and expectations are implemented within the neural circuitry of the visual system, and how we can use this knowledge to identify strange or salient events that occur in our environment. I am involved in applied research on how modifiable risk factors, ranging from malnutrition in infants to cardiovascular health in old age, influence our brain function and decision making. I completed my PhD at the University of South Australia, under the supervision of Associate Professor Hannah Keage. During my PhD I completed a 6-month research internship at the University of Louvain (Belgium), under the supervision of Professor Bruno Rossion. In 2017 I commenced a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at the University of Melbourne, and became a Decision Science Research Fellow in June 2019. I am currently a member of the Decision Neuroscience Lab, led by Associate Professor Stefan Bode.
