Bio
Daan Bos has experience in experimental, theoretical and statistical analysis of ecological questions, but always with an emphasis on applied ecology. He is well informed about policies and legislation related to nature conservation in Europe. Most of his research was carried out in (semi-) natural areas, in Sengal, Kenya, Cameroon, U.S.A., The Netherlands and several other countries in Europe, where human interest and natural values meet and often collide. Daan has an open eye for the needs of local stakeholders and the consequences these may have for nature conservation in terms of communication, management and design of special protected areas. At many occasions he has been co-operating closely in multi-disciplinary teams, while enjoying this thoroughly. A stay of five months, as academic visitor at Deakin University (July dec. 2016 Melbourne, AU), has deepened his international perspective on wildlife management.
