个人简介
Dr Dan Sun obtained her B.Eng (Materials Engineering) and MSc (Mechanical Eng) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2003 and 2005 respectively. She then studied for her PhD at University of Southampton during 2005-2009, specializing in Biotribology and corrosion of metal-on-metal orthopaedic implants.
Dan joined Nanomaterials and Integrated Bioengineering Centre (NIBEC), University of Ulster in 2009. She first started there as an industrial fellow, working on a collaborative project (UU, AVX ltd) focusing on electrical characterization of semiconductor capacitor devices. The work mainly looked into improving dispersion of BaTiO3 nanoparticles and its effect on the electrical reliability performance (current leakage etc) of the prototype devices. Between Jun 2013-Aug 2014, Dan worked as a research associate focusing on design, fabrication and testing of microfluidic sensor device for ocean CO2 detection. At NIBEC, Dan has also developed her research interest in the emerging area of low temperature microplasma processing, which can be used for surface functionalization of nanoparticles and synthesis of nanocomposites.
Dan has established broad academic collaborations nationally and internationally, such as University of Southampton, University of Ulster, Leeds University, University of Cabria (Italy), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Dalian Technological University and Chongqing University in China.
