Bio
Dalila Serpa holds a PhD. in Marine, Earth and Environmental Sciences (2012) by the University of Algarve, a MSc. Degree in Ecology, Management and Modelling of Marine Resources (2005) by the New University of Lisbon and a Degree in Biology Applied to Animal Resources - Marine Branch (1999) by the University of Lisbon. Dalila Serpa is currently an Assistant Researcher at the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) of the University of Aveiro (http://www.cesam.ua.pt/dalilaserpa). Dalila Serpa works on hydrological, ecological and ecotoxicological modelling. Since 2019, her work has been devoted to developing a model for managing fire-affected aquatic ecosystems, under present and future climate conditions. Dalila Serpa is currently PI of a project (FIREMIX) funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and co-PI of an EU-funded project (LIFE REFOREST). Aside from the projects she is (co-)coordinating, Dalila Serpa is a researcher in 8 scientific projects (2 international and 6 national) and a member of the COST-Action FIRELINKS (CA18135) - Fire effects on Earth System and Society. Dalila Serpa has published 31 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 1 book chapter, having an H-index of 16. She has also presented more than 80 communications in national/international meetings. During her career, Dalila has supervised 3 Post-Doc, 1 PhD., 5 MSc. and 3 BSc. students, and more recently a researcher, a Post-Doc fellow and a PhD. student.
