Dainius Pavalkis

DAINIUS PAVALKIS, Professor, adviser to Rector of Almaty management University (AlmaU) Kazakhstan, professor consultant at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), Advisor to Rector European Medical University, Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Prof. D. Pavalkis graduate of Medicine at the Kaunas Institute of Medicine, underwent postgraduate training in Moscow, in St. Mark’s Hospital, London, Memorial Sloan Cancer Kettering Centre, New York. From 1995-2005 Prof. Pavalkis was Director for surgery at the largest centre of its kind in Lithuania, the University Hospital – Kaunas Clinics, with responsibility of all clinical and administrative activities of all surgical specialties, intensive care and trauma. Professor has published more than 380 research papers concerning surgery, oncology, research and innovation funding and governmental policies. 2012-2015 Prof. D. Pavalkis was Minister for Education and Science of Lithuania, and in 2014 served as President of the EU Council of education and science ministers. Later, 2016-2020 served as advisor for research and innovation funding policies to Commissioner Carlos Moedas, was Provost of the Kazakh National medical university, 2019-2021 Rector of Astana Medical university. Hobbies include mountaineering, tourism, cooking, nature, changing environment of job from clinical surgical duties in cancer, to research of the affects of the environment to human health
