My research interests lie primarily in land transportation infrastructure engineering (road and rail) planning, design, construction and materials (including recycling) and specifically in the areas of aggregate and bituminous materials testing and their engineering performance. Research areas include pavement surface characteristics, skid resistance, crash investigations, road and traffic safety engineering, infrastructure asset management and road management systems. I also have strong research interests in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), future mobility and technologies, inductive electrification of roadways, travel behaviour, travel demand management, methodologies to determine network congestion, and economic appraisal / evaluation methods.
