Bio
Diego H. Milone received the bioengineering (hons.) degree from the National University of Entre Rios (UNER), Argentina, in 1998, and the PhD degree in microelectronics and computer architectures from Granada University, Spain, in 2003. He was with the Department of Bioengineering and the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, UNER from 1995 to 2002. Since 2003, he is full professor with the Department of Informatics, National University of Litoral (UNL). From 2009 to 2011, he was director of the Department of Informatics and from 2010 to 2014 was assistant dean for science and technology. From 2015 to 2020, he was director of the Research Institute for Signals, Systems and Computational Intelligence (CONICET-UNL). Since 2006, he is a research scientist with the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). His research interests include statistical learning, pattern recognition, signal processing, neural and evolutionary computing, with applications to speech recognition, affective computing, biomedical signals, and bioinformatics.
