Bio
Dan Gunter leads the Data Intensive Systems group. Dan's research is in distributed and parallel systems, with a focus on performance and usability issues at the intersection of large databases and fast networks. Recent work includes distributed workflow performance analysis; NoSQL databases for materials science; networked application adaptation; and user-centered design approaches. He maintains the NetLogger distributed systems analysis software. Past research includes contribution to network measurement standards in the Global Grid Forum, work on scientific collaboration tools, and the Distributed Parallel Storage System.
